What is Boys and Girls Club of Covington County?
The Boys and Girls Club of Covington County provides numerous program areas that help challenge and develop the mind and body, helping members build a solid foundation on which to develop moral and ethical values through diverse and educational program and social activities. These services are provided with special concern for children from disadvantaged circumstances. With four sites throughout Covington County, members have access to everything from educational experiences to sports programming and leadership training. The Club provides after-school programming throughout the school year, as well as a full-day summer program during the month of June.

Membership is open to all children ages 6-18. The Boys and Girls Club of Covington County covers the entire county of Covington, Mississippi. Four club sites: Collins, Hopewell, Mt Olive, and Seminary. The annual membership fee is $80 per child; however, no child is turned away due to their inability to pay the fee. All children are welcome regardless of race, color, creed or national origin.

The programs provided by Boys and Girls Club of Covington County are as follows:
- Power Hour: A homework and tutoring program—each child’s grades are tracked in the school year.
- Smart Moves: Youth get the tools to resist alcohol, tobacco, drugs, premature sexual activity.
- Career Launch: Partnership with the local middle schools—services to give youth career tools such as resume building, mock interviews, job shadowing, college tours, career summit, etc.
- Money Matters: Helps teens gain useful knowledge and skills such as financial literacy, including budgeting, saving, investing, credit and debt, entrepreneurship and planning for college.
- Passport to Manhood: Promotes responsibility, reinforces positive behavior, and develops character in adolescent males addressing critical issues such as ethics, decision making, fatherhood, employment and careers, cooperation and conflict, diversity, relationships, and self-esteem. This program targets young men ages 11-14.
- Community Service: Community clean-up days, etc., and collaboration with local law enforcement by having officers meet with the youth and exchange a positive dialogue.
- Project Learn: High yield activities to reinforce skills the child is taught at school.
- Diplomas 2 Degrees: College readiness, access, success–provides services to guide members through high school graduation and plans for post-secondary education and career choices.
- Title V Best Choice Program- Focuses on abstinence and teaches good choices in life.
- Title V Best Choice Parent Program: A program that focuses on teaching parents how to talk to their children about abstinence and making good choices.
