Pine Burr Area Council offers Cub Scouts, STEM Labs, and Boy and Girl Troops aimed at fostering character development, citizenship, training, and personal fitness of young people and in other ways, to prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling values based on those found in the Scout Oath and law.

Who does Pine Burr Area Council- Boy Scouts of America serve?

The Pine Burr Area Council serves boys and girls ages 6-21 for our Cub Scout, Scout BSA, Venturing, Exploring, and STEM Scouts Programs. In 2019, the Pine Burr Area Council directly served 4,600 individuals. Pine Burr Area council has a scholarship program/specific assistance for youth members so that anyone who needs financial assistance can be helped.

Pine Burr Area Council is divided into five districts and serves youth in seventeen counties in South Mississippi.

Singing River District: Greene County, George County, Jackson County

Spanish Train District: Hancock County, Harrison County

Twin Rivers District: Forrest County, Perry County, Stone County

Tail Pine District: Jefferson Davis County, Marion County, Lamar County, Pearl River County

Chickasawhay District: Smith County, Jasper County, Covington County, Jones County, Wayne County

Additional programs offered by Pine Burr Area Council:

We assist sponsoring organizations and Scouting units through promotion, supervising and administering a superior educational program with an emphasis on outdoor activities.

  • Traditional Programs: Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA (Boy and Girl Troops), Venturing Crews, Exploring Post, and STEM labs.
  • ScoutReach: targets at-risk youth in hard to serve neighborhoods and communities through traditional Scouting programs. In 2019 we hired a ScoutReach Program Aid to serve at-risk youth in the Beacon Homes and Brown Circle Communities.
  • Outdoor Program: Camp Tiak is open year-round for camping and recreation use by our youth and their families.
